2018 Summer Day Camps!

The New Weis Center offers weekly nature day camp programs at our beautiful Ringwood location in the Highlands region of northern NJ! The 152-acre property features a historic main building, picnic facilities, a large recreational field, covered pavilion, fire circle and a stream for nature programs and exploring. Our site is also ideally situated adjacent to the Highlands Natural Pool for swimming and Norvin Green State Forest for additional explorations!

We are excited to offer an extended camp session for 2018! In addition to adding a seventh week, this year's camp will take a new approach to immersing our campers in nature. The revised activity schedule was designed by Lead Educator
Jill Burgy to give campers a unique featured activity for each day of the week and provide access to a wider variety of activities and experiences.

Our goal is to create a space for our campers to express themselves, build confidence, grow friendships - and learn some science along the way. By engaging campers in outdoor learning, we hope to provide them with an unforgettable summer camp experience and a lifelong connection to the world around them.

Camp runs from Monday, July 16 - Friday, August 31. We are starting our program a bit later so we can extend it through the end of the summer, in order to provide a camp experience after other area programs have finished. We hope that providing late summer activities for area children will have a positive impact within the community. We encourage you to have your camper(s) participate in more than one week of camp, as there is great value in allowing children time to find their place in the outdoors.

STAFF

  • Staffed by our Camp Director, educators from our partnership with Ramapo College and trained Weis staff.
  • Camp programs will operate in compliance with all NJ Department of Health Youth Camp standards.
