More About Giselle Cuevas

Giselle received her BA in Fine Arts from Montclair State University. She’s an experienced bilingual educator in the Arts, farm-based education, and yoga & mindfulness. Giselle taught art for Riverdale Arts and interned in multiple art galleries such as Edward Hopper House in Nyack, NY and Allied Arts in Bellingham, WA. Through art and farm-based education, she learned the value and need for growing cities to integrate sustainable gardening within the community and school setting.

Giselle has had the opportunity to travel and live in different places around the world. During her travels, she had the opportunity to take courses and work on permaculture farms and Earthships. Permaculture is a self-sufficient agricultural farm that works with the ecosystem. Earthships are off the grid homes made out of recyclable and landfill items. Giselle was also an Assistant Farmer and Educator at Grow it Green Morristown, which is the largest public school garden in New Jersey. In addition, she is certified in Little Flower Yoga (Level 1-3), has a substitute teaching certification (Passaic & Morris Counties, NJ) and a Permaculture design certification.

By integrating yoga and mindfulness, Giselle’s goal is to motivate and inspire children to reach their highest potential through creativity and utilizing what we have in nature.

In addition to presenting her Eclectic Kids program and teaching at local yoga studios, Giselle is also an part-time educator for New Weis Center field trips, and a counselor at our summer nature camps. We feel very fortunate to have her as part of our programs!

Eclectic Kids - from Giselle Cuevas

"Connecting yoga and mindfulness through nature and art"

Giselle Cuevas brings her wonderful "Eclectic Kids" program to The New Weis Center!
